Cemeteries have always been strangely attractive to me, and even more so now that I am usually carrying a camera. There are some beautiful gravestones, some weird ones, some large and some small ones, and various varieties of ornate and plain ones. There are some well cared for ones, looked after by regular visits from mourning families, and some just left to battle the elements on their own. Cemeteries are really just places begging to be photographed.
One day last week I took a quick stroll through a cemetery on Highway 15 just outside of Smiths Falls. It was a quick visit – long enough to extract a few interesting photos, but not long enough to reveal any secrets or stories that were obviously there.
