For the fourth year in a row, on a rainy September Saturday evening, some 350 women took over the hall at the Carleton Place Community Centre for the Little Black Dress event. Created by the amazing efforts of Carol Dryburgh, President of the Lanark branch of the Canadian Cancer Society, the The Little Black Dress was conceived as a way to bring the ladies of Lanark County together for an evening, united in the fight against cancer. I am very proud to have been a part of this incredible event for all four years, and on this latest evening, some $21,000 was raised to help fund the good fight.
The attire is “little black dress” of course, and the atmosphere is incredible. Everyone looks their very best, and the Freedom Photography event booth is kept busy all evening – we set a record this year with almost 600 images printed. Some of our favourites are included here, and there are more on the Little Black Dress Facebook page.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this event, and we hope to be fully recovered by this time next year!
